The highest point in the Nilgiri hills

Doddabetta rises to about 2,600 metres and is the highest peak in the Nilgiris. A short walk from the parking area leads to a viewing tower with a telescope house, and on clear days the view runs over the hills of Coonoor, Kotagiri and the plains beyond.
Clouds roll in quickly through the day, so the best views are in the early morning.
See it as part of a planned itinerary with transport, stay and a trip coordinator.
